FAQ
Where does our cashmere fibers come from?
Tara Oriental is a pioneer in manufacturing high quality, luxury and premium cashmere products. We ethically source our fibers from inner Mongolia and Italy.
How do I deal with pilling?
If you are a true cashmere collector, you'd know that no matter how luxurious the cashmere product, it is natural for them to pill.
Pills appear when groups of short or broken fibers tangle together in a tiny knot or ball-- a pill. These can form from rubbing, abrasion or just during normal use.
It's super easy to remove them. Remove the pills through a cashmere comb or a wool shaver.
How to make cashmere last forever?
As part of our sustainability efforts, we package all of our items in reusable storage bags. These environmentally conscious bags have been designed with multi-purpose in mind, featuring a luxurious soft-touch to help prevent wrinkles and breathable vents to keep your cashmere fresh.
We don't recommend hanging your cashmere, since pure cashmere sweaters and accessories have the tendency to grow and lose shape when left to hang.
Folding your cashmere and storing in our bags also prevents moths from snacking on your favorite sweater too! Toss a cedar ball in for extra freshness.
Can we wash cashmere?
One of the simplest ways to minimize environmental impact is to opt for hand-washing but to those who are nervous, we recommend dry cleaning as well. If you choose to hand-wash, here is what we recommend:
- Fill a basin with lukewarm water with a small amount of gentle woolite or baby shampoo.
- Submerge your cashmere and gently swirl for 1 min. Then, let it soak for 5 min. Gently press your cashmere to let out excess water, be careful not to twist or stretch.
- Lay sweater flat on a thick, dry towel. Roll the towel up like a yoga mat, pressing as you go.
- Unroll and lay flat in its natural shape to air dry. Never use a dryer! If any wrinkles remain after completely dry, use a steamer or iron to remove.

Each year more textile than 17 million tons of unused textile products end up in landfills. At Tara Oriental, we stand to make a difference. To further our sustainability efforts, we only manufacture your order once you place it. It takes 7 to 14 days to complete the manufacturing process from start to finish.
Delivery Time
Once you place an order, our factory in Nepal starts manufacturing your special piece immediately. It takes 1 to 2 weeks to completely manufacture them. Once your order is made, it is shipped to our office in New York and all orders are distributed from NYC to your door steps. for a second round of quality check. Hence, our delivery time is within 3 to 5 weeks, if not sooner, from the time you placed an order.

Returns:
Full priced items purchased online only are eligible for a refund or exchange as long at it hasn't been worn and the tag must be attached to the product.
Sale items purchased online cannot be returned. Sale items are not eligible for refunds, credit notes or exchanges on any sale items purchased online unless deemed faulty.
